The NHL and Vegas? Um, yes please
So now that the NHL has finally found a single event that creates a buzz and gets most sports fan to take notice of hockey, they now seem to be salivating over the possibilities for future sites of the Winter Classic.
Vegas on New Years? Where do I sign?
The NHL has finally found something here and it looks like they are going to take advantage of it. They were even talking about possible new locations on PTI today and they were throwing out the Red Square in Moscow and in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington.
Anytime you have Kornheiser and Wilbon talking hockey you know you have something good going on.
As good as all of those places sound, I can’t get over the opportunity to have a hockey game with the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, and Caesars’ in the backdrop. (Plus all of those creepy guys slapping those escort service cards while trying to get your attention. Trust me, it only adds to the ambiance of Vegas.)
Back in the day, Swingers was about the coolest thing that had ever mentioned the NHL. (They played NHL 94, still the greatest sports game of all time. I am the De La Salle of that game times ten. It took over a thousand games for me to finally lose.) Finally, the NHL has produced something cool on its own for people to talk about.
What could be cooler than the NHL having an outdoor game in Las Vegas.
The NHL and Vegas? Um, yes please.
It just doesn’t get any better than Vegas, baby. Vegas.
