UW still looking for the right coach

http://www.kvewtv.com/upload/pics/55/555.jpgThe University of Washington is finding it hard to find a new football coach.

After being turned down by Brian Kelly, they thought they still had a lot of options out there. Now Mike Leach and Pat Hill have joined him in saying no thanks to U Dub.

Those three are added to the list of Gary Pinkel (former OC at U Dub who got a raise at Mizzou), Dave Christensen (current OC at Mizzou who took the job at Wyoming), and Lane Kiffin (took the job at Tennessee), who all have been crossed off the list.

The list doesn’t even include Jim Mora Jr., the Seahawks next head coach in waiting, who two years ago said the Huskies were his dream job.

I guess I can’t really blame any of them for saying no.

Nobody wanted any part of Britney Spears when she had no hair and was partially insane. That is the state of the University of Washington football program right now. It’s so bad that it’s on par with the out of shape and crazy version of Britney.

Underneath all of the ugliness that currently exists at Washington, there lies something that can be beautiful.

They have the tradition, the facilities, and the fan base that can make them a contender sooner than many think. Whoever takes the job will also have a wide open Pac 10 where there is no consistent number two in the conference to compete with USC. U Dub has the potential to be that program.

This raises the question, would you have taken a chance on Crazy Britney and her career if you knew she would look as good as she does now?

I’m betting that you would have.

U Dub had a once great football program. Just like Britney, they have all the tools to go right back to the top where they once were.

All they need now is for the right coach to realize it.

***UPDATE*** ESPN is reporting that USC offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian is going to be named the next coach at the University of Washington. Hopefully he can be the guy to bring UW back to the Rose Bowl.
